European Parliament Elections

Voter survey of the 2024 European Election Study (EES)

For this project, I was part of an international team of scholars comprising Wouter van der Brug, Sara Hobolt, Alexia Katsanidou, Sebastian Popa, Ilke Toygür, Miriam Sorace, and Claes de Vreese.

We were responsible for the voter survey of the 2024 EES. The post-election survey was conducted in all EU member states in the direct aftermath of the European Parliament elections that were held between 6 and 9 June 2024. More information about the background and community funding of this project can be found on the GESIS website.

MADEU24: Mis- and Disinformation in the 2024 European Parliament elections

The aim of this project is to study various aspects of mis- and disinformation in the context of the 2024 European Parliament Elections. To this end, we conducted a three-wave online panel survey with European voters in three countries (Netherlands, Germany, and Poland). We had two pre-election and one post-election waves in connection to the elections that took place between 6 and 9 June 2024. We are, among other things, interested in the extent to which perceptions of mis- and disinformation change over time and how they relate to media use, political preferences and voting behaviour alongside the perceptions of election outcomes.

I am part of a stellar team of ASCoR colleagues that include Patrick van Erkel, Aqsa Farooq, Michael Hameleers, Elske van den Hoogen, Marina Tulin, and Claes de Vreese.
